The "Council Daybook" contain the daily stories that the Rome Bureau of the U.S. National Catholic Welfare Conference News Service wrote about the Second Vatican Council's discussions and debates, as well as translations of some of the speeches made both in the Council and outside it, interviews, comments, and summaries and texts of the various Council documents.
This is the first volume of three (volume 2 = session 3; volume 3 = session 4). The National Catholic Welfare Conference is the predecessor to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
